Luke called the meeting order at 12:00 noon and presented the agenda. Luke gave a short presentation on what the Board of Directors has focused on in the past years. He mentioned that two years ago the board was focused on the survival of Rainbow. This year the board has been able to broaden the focus. It has focused on amending the by-laws, building trust, façade renovation, board training and strategic planning. He then gave a short presentation about how many dollars are spent in advertising natural foods as opposed to junk foods.
Steve Whitlow presented a managers report. He personally thanked all the staff at Rainbow and the customers of Rainbow.
Barbara Scobee presented the financial report. She went over different financial reports for the past year. She was available for questions after the meeting.
The candidates for the Board of Directors gave short talks about their interest in serving on the board. These candidates were Karen Parker, Amy Breckenridge and John McNeal.
Luke presented a blessing of the food and the food was
served.
The ballots were counted and the results were presented.
All the by-laws passed: #1 61 yes and 0 no, #2 61 yes and 1 no, #3 60 yes and 0 no, #4 61 yes and 1 no, #5 62 yes and 0 no, #6 61 yes and 0 no, #7 61 yes and 1 no, #8 62 yes and 0 no, #9 62 yes and 0 no.
The results of the candidates for the Board of Directors was Amy Breckenridge 58 votes, Karen Parker 52 votes, John McNeal 36 votes, Africano Stapleton 13 votes, Gen Barbour 5 votes, Steve Harvey 2 votes and Patty McGee 1 vote.
General Discussion: Daniel from Rainbow discussed some of his outreach ideas. A member asked if the health fair would be held in the fall and Daniel stated that he felt sure it would be.
A motion was made to adjourn and it was seconded.
Meeting adjourned at 2:00 PM.
