Annual Membership Meeting

Board President, Luke Lundemo, called the meeting order at 12:05 and presented the agenda. Like last year, he gave a quick demonstration about how many dollars are spent in advertising natural foods as opposed to junk foods. 

 

Steve Whitlow presented a managers report.  He personally thanked all the staff at Rainbow and the customers of Rainbow.

 

Barbara Scobee presented the financial report showing our second consecutive profitable year. She was available for questions after the meeting.

 

There was a short presentation by Mr. Anderson about clean water and air and what Rainbow is doing to provide both clean air and water to its staff and customers.

 

The candidates for the Board of Directors gave short talks about their interest in serving on the board.

 

Luke presented a blessing of the food and the food was served and ballots were collected. 

While members ate their meal, the ballots were counted and the results were later presented.

 

The results of the candidates for the Board of Directors:

Leo Huddleston – 74 votes

Irene Jones – 43 votes

Partial Term:

Joy Adams – 39 votes

1st Alternate:

Michael Goggans – 38 votes

2nd Alternate:

Gen Barbour – 29 votes

Others:

Meredith Virden – 21 votes

Melissa Ann Bryant – 17 votes

Allison Walker – 17 votes

John McNeal – 14 votes

Daniel Johnson – 3 votes

Joyce Brewer – 1 vote

Cobus Jones – 1 vote

 

The bylaw amendment to allow email notification of annual meetings passed 75-2.

 

There was a short general discussion concerning providing cooking classes. The answer to the question from the member was that we currently did not have the facilities to hold teaching classes and we were looking into solutions.

 

A motion was made to adjourn and it was seconded and passed

 

Meeting adjourned at 2:00 PM.
